The lab will then custom fabricates a crown which is the actual replacement for the missing tooth. We make sure that the crown is the proper size and shape, as well as matching the color for a more cosmetic result.
The final step is to evaluate the crown and place it on top of the abutment. On this visit we will make adjustments and evaluate the crown. We ensure that the bite is even and that there are no spaces to capture food between the implant and the surrounding teeth. Once all these adjustments are completed to satisfaction, we permanently cement the crown to the abutment.
How many visits will I need for a dental implant?
The amount of visits required to place an implant varies from patient the patient. It ranges from four to six appointments, over approximately 3-4 months.
What to expect after a dental implant procedure.
It is normal to experience some soreness after the procedure. It usually goes away in a few days. If needed, we will prescribe anti-inflammatories or painkillers.

Under normal circumstances, a dental implant will last for life.
